Super Wildcard Weekend Preview
By Stephen “Twist” Kearns
Super Wildcard Weekend is here! There are some great NFL playoff matchups ahead this weekend, but who will emerge victorious? Check out our Wildcard Weekend previews below!

Seahawks #7 at 49ers #2
In the regular season the 49ers beat the Seahawks in both meetings. The Seahawks have faced Mr. Irrelevant once this season and Purdy made sure to let the Seahawks know that being the 262th pick in the draft, doesn’t mean anything (just like the 199th pick later in this list) a draft number doesn’t determine whether you’ll be successful or not!
With CMC, Samuel, & Kittle at Purdys disposal and Bosa on the defensive side of the ball, the 49ers are considered the favourites heading into this match up.
However Geno Smith would like to step in and make a case for an upset! With Walker looking to play against the 49ers the Seahawks look to lean on him to free up Lockett and Metcalf and with Fant occasionally making plays when it counts don’t write off the Seahawks just yet.
Prediction: Seahawks 24 – 49ers 31
Chargers #5 at Jaguars #4
Who would have thought the Jaguars would be hosting a playoff game? But after running the table at the end of the season the Jaguars stopped the Titans to claim the division and now will host the Chargers. When they both met in the regular season the Jaguars stomped the Chargers 38-10 off the arm of Lawrence.
Herbert will be looking to extract some semblance of revenge by rolling into Jacksonville and ending the Jags playoff run before it begins.
However with Williams now missing the playoffs Herbert will have to find a new favourite target this week. Can the Jaguars upset the Chargers? Most experts will say the Jaguars don’t stand a chance, this will only bolster their desire to upset the NFL pundits!
Prediction: Chargers 28 – Jaguars 35
Dolphins #7 at Bills #2
All the love to Damar, he won at the game of life! The Bills and Dolphins had two close games in the regular season but both of those had Tua under centre for the Fins.
Now with Skylar under centre the Bills have a gimme of a win to start their push towards the Superbowl. No disrespect to Dolphins fans but Skylar won’t be able to hang in a shoot out with Allen even with Hill at WR.
The Bills are playing for both Damar and to finally exercise the demon of four Superbowl losses!
Prediction: Dolphins 13 – Bills 42
Giants #6 at Vikings #3
Danny Dimes has lead the Giants to the playoffs! The Giants may have been a Jekyll and Hyde throughout the season but they’ve made it to the show and now they’ll have to face Cousin and the Vikings once again
Are the Vikings the biggest fraud in the playoffs? Are they one and done? Don’t count them out just yet, Cousins has a habit of showing up in the playoffs and making sure the Vikings hang in there. The Vikings has the edge in the explosive offensive plays over the Giants and the more recent playoff experience as well.
YOU LIKE THAT!?
Prediction: Giants 17 – Vikings 21
Ravens #6 at Bengals #3
M.I.A. – Lamar Jackson, if seen please return to Baltimore. Jackson will miss this important match up against a division rival in the playoffs. “Snoop” Huntley will be under centre against Burrows’ Bengals who are looking to make it to the show once again.
If the season finale is anything to go by the Bengals will come out with the win and have to be considered heavy favourites. Can Burrow breeze through the Ravens and onto the next round or will Snoop smoke the Bengals at home and bring the Bengals what they are used to: playoff woes.
Prediction: Ravens 10 – Bengals 24
Cowboys #5 at Buccaneers #4
The ageless wonder, the 199th pick, the Goat. Brady once again finds himself in the post season going against the Cowboys. While these teams met once in the regular season with Brady coming out on top, the post season is a different scenario.
Dak will be looking to put the final nail in the coffin of Brady’s career but #12 has the habit of not going down without a fight. The possibility of a final season, will that be drive enough to push Brady past the Cowboys or will Brady crash out of the playoffs quicker than FTX?
I think #12 will pull out at least one more post season victory!
Prediction: Cowboys 21 – Buccaneers 24
