NFL In Paris and Walker’s Return – NFL Week 7 Preview

We’re rapidly hurtling towards the midpoint of one of the wildest NFL seasons in memory, and there’s no slowing us down. Week 7 is next up on deck, and all eyes will be on Paris, where the Steelers and Saints are set to clash in a historic matchup this Sunday afternoon. But does anyone really want the game to go ahead there? Here’s everything you need to know ahead of another NFL weekend.

NFL touches down in Paris

The NFL is heading to France for the first time ever, and remains on course to fulfil Sunday’s fixture between Pittsburgh and New Orleans, despite growing unrest in the city and criticism from players and fans alike. Something catastrophic would need to happen for the league to cancel or move the game, but with one pregame event already cancelled due to safety concerns and others potentially at risk, it’s fair to wonder if the league ever did consider calling the whole thing off. Both sides arrive in the French capital on the back of big victories, and will be keen to keep their respective winning streaks alive.

It’s JJ time in New Jersey

The New York Football Giants have made a change at Quarterback. After riding the Jameis Winston rollercoaster for a month, John Harbaugh has had enough and is inserting the former Vikings first round draft pick as his new starting signal caller. McCarthy has earned the start after a brilliant performance against the Saints last Sunday. Coming in cold off the bench, he threw for 243 yards and a touchdown, and almost led his team to a thrilling comeback win over the Saints. Whether or not the change is permanent remains to be seen, but JJ has the hot hand right now and boy are the Giants going to ride it!

Rams Injury woes rack up

It’s not a good time to be a Los Angeles Ram. Sitting at the bottom of their division with a 2-4 record, Sean McVay’s side have looked like a shadow of their former selves so far this season, especially for a team who were preseason favourites to lift the Lombardi. To add injuries to insult, their star players are dropping like flies – with the likes of Poona Ford, Davante Adams and now potentially Puca Nakua all set to miss extended periods of time. With the Raiders, Packers and Chiefs still ahead on their schedule, things could start to get ugly quickly in tinseltown if they can’t turn it around fast.

Kenneth Walker’s Revenge Game

Perhaps the most anticipated game of the weekend see’s reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker return to Lumen Field for the first time since he left the Seahawks to sign for the Chiefs in free agency. In fact, Walker’s return with the undefeated Chiefs marks the first time in NFL history that a reigning Super Bowl MVP is actively taking the field against his former team the following season. Walker is currently leading the NFL MVP race, racking up a league-high 665 rushing yards and averaging 133 yards per game. This is one you definitely do not want to miss!
