It wasn’t that long ago that you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere showing the Super Bowl in Ireland.
Back when I first became an NFL fan, there were only a handful of sports bars that would stay open late on the first Sunday in February for the big game.
Nowadays, everyone’s getting in on the act. And I absolutely love it.
The popularity of the NFL in Ireland has skyrocketed over the past 12 months, thanks in large part to the game in Croke Park and high profile college and NFL players.
As a result, bars up and down the country are capitalising on the hype and in less than 10 days time will welcome hordes of American football fans into their establishments for four hours of non stop action.
