NFL Week 7: The Good, The Bad & the New York Football Giants!
Brought to You by PrintMyPint
In this column, I always guarantee you that the NFL serves us the greatest entertainment available on this planet! Games can be decided by an individual’s athletic feat made possible by subtle blocking schemes and the most crushing defeats may arrive despite your team playing the better football! That’s what we love about this league! Well, that’s EXACTLY what happened! The Steelers and Giants looked to be cruising against the Bengals and Broncos, respectively. The Colts were able to maintain their composure to see off a Chargers’ challenge to regain the top seed in the NFL … “For now” we could suggest the Buccaneers may quip.
Flacco Bests Rodgers in Battle of the Vets
The Steelers seemed to have this game in the bag. Alas two first half interceptions from Aaron Rodgers: when the Steelers were 10-0 up and supposedly coasting: saw the Colts leave the field at the half 17:10 in the lead! Joe Flacco looks a man on a mission, he threw for 342 yards and three TDs. He targeted Ja’Marr Chase for 16 receptions on 23 attempts. The Steelers defense were a shadow of their previous performances: and the offense were hampered by several offensive penalties that saw Flacco et al remain composed and secure the win despite Rodgers’ best efforts with a dangerous Hail Mary in the final play.
Bengals 33 Steelers 31
Giants Lose The Fourth Quarter: and the Game!
Why oh why are Giants fans pinning the blame for THIS loss on Jude McAtamney? Forgive the Irish bias, but if your coaching staff blows a 19-0 in the final quarter, the blame lies on the plays called and defensive schemes sent out. It was absolute CLASSIC Big Blue! The shutout looked all but confirmed by the end of the Third Quarter. In the final quarter the Broncos gained 227 yards of offense!! YES, 227 in one quarter! The previous two games have showcased that the Giants CAN trouble their division and serious NFL teams, but as always they may be hindered by the wrong men calling the plays … at both board level and on the sideline.

Colts Surge To Win Over Chargers
It appears Daniel “Indiana” Jones can do no wrong at this very moment in time! Jones capped off a fine 288 yard passing performance with two TDs and no interceptions. Jones was aided by the in-form Jonathan Taylor and the former Badger secured his THIRD three TD game this season. Justin Herbert looked to be in fine form with 420 yards and three TDs. Alas the two interceptions he threw gave the momentum back to Indy at important times. It gave the Colts their first win in LA for the first time since 1986! Who knows what other records the Colts may surpass this year! Expectations are sky high for the brilliant Colts given their fine performances in all facets of the game.
Colts 38 Chargers 24
It has been another fascinating week of headlines and drama on the field: and it will only get better as the fixture calendar progresses as professional pride, jobs and reputations endure more tests! What next for the Raiders? Are the Eagles and Chiefs redeemed? All will be answered as the game weeks unfold! And oh boy, we cannot wait! And you can find it all covered on Gaelic Gridiron!
