We are just one week away from arguably the biggest event in Irish sporting and cultural history (and no, Daniel O’Donnell isn’t going on tour) as next Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings will take the field in Croke Park for the first ever regular season NFL game to be played in Ireland. Yes, the NFL is rolling into Dublin for what will be a monumentally historic occasion, bringing the authentic game experience to Ireland’s capital city. There are a whole host of exciting events in store throughout the buildup to the big day, from fan zones to pop up merch stores and so much more, giving Irish NFL fans a taste of the buzz and excitement of a big time American football matchup!

NFL Fanzones
The best way to get hyped for the big NFL game in Croke Park next week is by hanging out with fellow fans, trying your hand at football games and enjoying some American style food and drink! Dublin will host two huge fan events during game week, with the Steelers Tailgate taking over Merrion Square and the official NFL Experience in Dublin Castle! Fans can expect entertainment, NFL legends appearances, activities, merch, giveaways and so much more! Test your skills with the field goal challenge, have a game of flag football and soak it all in! Then on game day, if you’re not lucky enough to be in Croke Park you can watch the game on a big screen at the Steelers watch party. All of these events are free to attend, but you will need tickets! NFL Shops
Looking the part for the NFL game in Dublin is absolutely essential, and with two huge merch shops opening for game week, you really have no excuse not to stock up on your favourite team’s gear! The official NFL Shop – featuring NFL merchandise from all 32 teams – will open in St Stephen’s Green Shopping Center on Tuesday, Sept. 23 through Monday, Sept. 29, including on gameday. The store will host exclusive fan experiences, including player signings, customization and exclusive 2025 NFL Dublin game merchandise. Additionally, the Steelers Pro Shop – a new 1,500+ square feet store at 40 Clarendon Street – is the ultimate shopping destination for fans – filled with wall-to-wall black and gold gear for gameday and beyond. There’s going to be a lot of empty pocketed NFL fans in Dublin come next Monday! Don’t spend all your money in one place!
NFL Pubs
No less than four NFL teams will have official watering holes for fans during game week in Dublin, with each taking over a historic city centre pub for the purposes of bringing supporters together! The Steelers will touchdown in the world-famous Fitzsimons Temple Bar, the official gathering point for Steelers Nation in Ireland, with appearances from legends, entertainment, craic agus ceoil and loads more! Just down the road, JR Mahons on the quays will serve as the official Minnesota Vikings pub while up the road on Stephen’s Green, Sinnotts will host Green Bay Packers fans. The Kansas City Chiefs are also bringing their famous “Chiefs House” to the nation’s capital for game week, which you can find in Murray’s on O’Connell Street. In fact, more or less every pub in the city has hopped on the NFL bandwagon, and you can expect most places to be jammed full of visiting fans seeking some Irish warmth and charm! So whatever part of the city you end up in over game week or on game day itself, you won’t be far from an official (or unofficial) NFL team pub for a quick scoop with fellow fans!
NFL Game Day in Croke Park
This is going to be a truly incredible experience for fans of American football in Ireland. Make sure you get down to the stadium nice and early for all the pregame festivities and atmosphere, and don’t leave your seats for a second!
