Georgia Tech to play Florida State in 2024 College Football Classic
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are set to face off against the Florida State Seminoles in the 2024 College Football Classic. It will be an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup and is slated for August 24th next year, with the venue being the Aviva Stadium. The game between Georgia Tech and Florida State was leaked online yesterday afternoon and was later officially confirmed by the organizers.

Next year’s game will be the sixth college football game to take place on Irish soil in 12 years, and Georgia Tech’s second visit. It will be the third game in a planned series of 5 college football fixtures due to take place in Ireland over the next 4 years.
The 2024 College Football Classic will also serve as a homecoming for Georgia Tech Punter, David Shanahan. The Kerry native has been an integral part of the Jackets setup since first appearing for them back in 2021. Shanahan won a scholarship to play college football at the Atlanta based program a few years back and is now in his Junior season.
“It’s just an incredible opportunity to get to play for Tech in Dublin. Definitely something I did not think would ever happen “ Shanahan told us.

Despite being the designated “home side”, Georgia Tech will head into this game as the firm underdog. They posted a pretty underwhelming record of just 5-7 in 2021 – paltry in comparison with the resurgent 10 -3 record of Florida State. And while there is still the whole of the 2023 season to play, we’d still expect FSU to be the favorites heading into this one.
