Josh Allen Thrives in Snow Bowl – NFL Week 13
There is no end to the drama and action, both on the field AND off it! And we love it! NFL fans have had an extended game week (thank you Thanksgiving!), and the headlines quickly began emerging! The Bears fired Head Coach Matt Eberflus, a day after a high profile failure to use a time out in the mere seconds remaining: it saw his side lose their sixth game in a row! Elsewhere, the Bills beat the 49ers in the latest Snow Bowl. Russell Wilson lead the Steelers to 9-3 with a win over the Bengals. Kirk Cousins’ obvious mobility issues lead for Falcons fans to call for his benching.
Bills Best 49ers in Snow Bowl
Josh Allen has placed himself firmly in the headlines this week with a fantastic performance: in spite of some dreadful weather conditions. He was imperious in this week’s Snow Bowl; overtaking Lamar Jackson in the MVP odds. His completion rate, in the blizzard was 76.5%: only bettered by his Week One and Three performances. The California born QB put the 49ers to the sword with 148 yards passing and two thrown TDs! If you haven’t seen the footage of his throw to Amari Cooper and Cooper’s return lateral to Allen for a rushing TD, it is well worth viewing! Allen became just the fourth NFL QB to score a TD following a pass he threw that returned to him before the score was finished. The Bills are within one game of the Chiefs for home-field advantage: and with the Bills performing so well, who would bet against them?

Wilson Vindicates Tomlin’s Trust
Russell Wilson finished this bruising contest with the Bengals with a personal record of 261 passing yards in a game: and the media were praising both him and the Head Coach that has trusted him. The thirty-six year old has progressed well in an Arthur Smith offense that was prepared in pre-season with Seahawks-esque schemes: and Tomlin’s decision to bench a previously effective Justin Fields has been vindicated. With this win today, Mike Tomlin secured an eighteenth straight season with a winning record. The Steelers’ fans and national media met his Week Seven decision with consternation: alas since his return from a calf issue, Wilson has lead the Steelers amicably: unleashing Najee Harris’ TD capabilities and getting the best from George Pickens, Pat Freiermuth, et al. The Steelers have a 98% chance of making the playoffs at 9-3: and Wilson has contributed immensely to that success. The loss sees the Bengals move to 4-8: their playoff hopes surely extinguished.

Falcons Fans Call for Rookie QB following Cousins’ Disaster-class
Kirk Cousins has had a dismal run of late: his four interceptions in this game, meant he has thrown six interceptions in the past three games: he hasn’t recorded a successful TD pass in those games. His post ACL surgery performances have called fans and media alike to question the decision to persist with the floundering Cousins, when he is in the clear need of a rest and further rehabilitation. Honestly, it was an uncomfortable watch and viewers were worried of a recurrence of the RGIII scenario as Cousins’ mobility looked compromised: the Chargers recorded five sacks on him. Surely the $180 million dollar four year contract he signed in March 2024, would mean the Falcons would protect him? And in first round pick, Michael Penix, Junior they have a suitable replacement! Head Coach Raheem Morris appears determined to continue playing Cousins: “I have no doubt that Kirk will bounce back and be ready to go.” An odd statement with Cousins’ current form, and a hungry rookie willing and able to deputise.

And there you have it, the thirteenth week of NFL action has consigned another coach to the exit door. The trending action on the field showcases some remarkable and explosive plays: tantalising displays of skill: these are some of THE premiere athletes in the world! Alas, it is the secretive chess moves in boardrooms and locker rooms that provide us with THE real intrigue and compelling storylines that sustain our attention over the course of the season! WE simply cannot get enough of the action!
